Canada Day 2018 - -A Full Day Of Celebrations in Edmonton

Canada is celebrating its 151st birthday and our fair city is packed full of celebrations - but with so much going on, it can be difficult to decide which events to attend with the family. We've taken the liberty of putting together a full day's worth of Canada Day activities so you can take the guesswork out of July 1st and skip straight to celebrating!

1) Canada Day Pancake Breakfast - 7 am to 10 am at the Alberta Legislature South Grounds

Talk about the perfect way to start the day! This years annual pancake breakfast will be hosted by the Ismaili Community and will include  free pancakes, watermelon, music, and games.

2) Free admission to the Art Gallery of Alberta - 10am to 5pm

Featuring activities for the whole family and a chance to view new exhibitions! Plus - free admission for Canada Day!

 

3) Edmonton Valley Zoo "Get Closer" Event - 11 am to 4 pm

"Get Closer" celebrates both Canada's and the Valley Zoo's birthday. Take part in a scavenger hunt, learning about our native animal species, listening to live music and enjoying a cupcake.

4) Canada Day at the Alberta Legislature - Noon-9:00 pm at the Alberta Legislature building and Grounds, Federal Building and Capital Plaza

Enjoy live performances, ceremonial events along with other family themed events on the historic grounds of the legislature. Free to the public!

5) Mill Woods Canada Day Celebration - 1 pm to 11 pm at the Mill Woods Park (66 Street and 23 Avenue

This community celebration is filled with family friendly fun including a petting zoo, live entertainment, hay rides and carnival games, and fireworks. Free to the public!
