1. Crestwood

Located in west Edmonton, Crestwood sits comfortably between two ravines whose paths lead to Edmonton's famous river valley. The ravines offer several hiking, cycling, and running paths, which are surrounded by larger trees and beautiful views of Downtown Edmonton. On your walk, you will enjoy homes built after World War II, which are unique, and shy away from the recent "cookie cutter" theme in newer neighbourhoods. Hungry? Stop for a bite to eat at a chic local restaurant or cafe located in Crestwood on 142 Street and 96 Ave. This neighbourhood has everything!

2. Old Strathcona

A truly unique spot located on the south side of the city, Strathcona overlooks the River and Mill Creek Ravine. This neighbourhood is home to Edmonton's famous Whyte Avenue (82 Ave.), which is a long strip of the coolest shops, bars, and restaurants you'll find in Edmonton. Visit Old Strathcon on a Saturday and check out the famers market where you will find locally grown produce, specialty foods, homemade decor, clothing, and more!

3. Oliver

This neighbourhood has the best of both worlds. On one side, you've got the Brewery District and easy access to Edmonton's city centre. On the other side, you've got beautiful views of Alberta's Legislative Grounds, and you guessed it, the river valley! Oliver is full of modern high rises, and historical 19th century houses. Take an evening still across the footbridge which crosses the North Saskatchewan for perfect views of the sunset!

4. Summerside

Although this neighbourhood is the newest on the list, Summerside has certainly made a name for itself already. The neighbourhood is located just south of the Anthony Henday, and Ellerslie Road. Summerside as the dictionary definition of a suburb, but don't let that fool you. The neighbourhood, modeled after the Prince Edward Island seaside, features one of the largest man-made lakes in Edmonton which is used for swimming, boating, and fishing. Turn your walk into an adventure this summer with a resident of summerside!

Take a walk down the hill to visit Edmonton's Valley Zoo, or have a picnic alongside the river. Your pup will also love the spacious off-leash dog park!
